Common Sense &
Sound Public Policy
A Think Tank in Texas!
About Us

The Common Sense & Sound Public Policy Think Tank (CSSP) is a
non-profit corporation 501(c) (4).

Purpose

To research, report, and educate on social and economic questions
facing the State of Texas, and their effect on the long-term
prosperity and well-being of the citizens and businesses of our State.

Current Issue Areas & Education Programs

"Give Texans Hope & Doctors Tools" is our stem cell research
educational program.   On August 27, 2005 the CSSP Board voted
to add stem cell research as an issue and education program.  We
have found that once people know the details about embryonic stem
cell research, they normally support such research. We have
devoted our research and education efforts to address the prevalent
arguments directed against embryonic stem cell research, and how
the medical procedure of invitro-fertilization normally results in
unused embryos that may be ultimately destroyed.  We think that
parents should have the opportunity to make the unused embryos
available to State funded research at State universities, in lieu of
destroying them, if they so choose.

We believe State funded research is critical to ensure that the
research is conducted prudently, and to ensure access to any future
treatments that result from the research are available to all citizens
of our Great State.
